Profound book. His explanation on life and consciousness resonates with me. The appendix on kundalini energy also hit home. I have now started reading the follow up book his wive posthumously wrote. ...

Glad you found it valuable. I certainly did. I still need to read "A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness". I'm sure it's phenomenal. Please let me know how you like it.

Bentov also wrote an appendix for Dr. Lee Sannella M.D.'s book "Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence". Much like Bentov's "Stalking the Wild Pendulum", it is worth acquiring just to read Bentov's appendix contribution, but the whole book is worth a read too.

Likewise, the now declassified Gateway Experience documents cite Bentov more often than they cite Robert Monroe which, given the subject covered and given the status of the Monroe Institute as the premiere center for the study of this subject, is significant.

I started my ongoing research bender looking into the meaning of the name I was given by a 90+ year old Native American Medicine Man in an unsought, remote encounter. From there, my research shifted to understanding what kundalini awakenings were. This is what led me to Bentov & Sannella. Kundalini has been a core subject of focus for me for the last 38 months. I've taken a few slight detours chasing other topics but they all connect in some way.

This research has allowed me to penetrate numerous occult blinds and, in doing so, establish a lengthy apologia for perennialism. In that research, I've found the legitimate science and origin of the baptism ritual, the teleology of the ergot laced kukeon consumed at Eleusis, and more.

This has been the single most fascinating thread I've ever unraveled in my life.

I never went back to post it but I greatly enjoyed this book (pendulum). In fact I think that I just deciphered the weird instances I had 3-4 times in my life from age 27 onwards, which are kundalini spurts of energy from my lower back upwards. The symptoms described match exactly what I experienced...
