It could also be that monero bros are simply more financially successful than your average bitcoiner. Or that monero got better distribution. Or a combination of factors.
I think most (not all) Bitcoiner see BTC solely as a store of value, not as a checking account where a part of their salary goes in and some have to go out. In the case of monero we have been close to 100% interest during the last two years, so the spending may be pretty high in some cases.
