Zoom out… Coinkite is forever a part of the Bitcoin story, as it was deeply part of the community.
That’s what makes this breach of trust so difficult, it’s this cycle’s most painful point, IMO
It feels different than Celsius, BlockFi, Mt Gox, FTX, or any other scandal.
You have to trust the system(s) you use to protect your corn, so make necessary changes, but the airgapped blackberry wallet will always remain in my drawer bc it’s objectively cool. You don’t need to generate a seed phrase on a cold card. You can import a seed phrase and use as a normal wallet or part of a multisig
While this is a huge breach of trust, I don’t believe it was a result of malice
