In terms of privacy, it’s superior to Bitcoin.
But as things stand, Monero cannot survive a 51% state-sponsored attack; this is currently Monero’s biggest weakness.
On the other hand, Bitcoin’s strength in hashing power is undermined by the centralization of mining operations in the U.S.
So in a way, both are screwed.
