I despise banks, so I have no intention of using their services. I don't want the bank or the government to know about my gold, because I'm going to buy it on the black market. Just like with crypto: it's either self-custody or it doesn't make sense.

I don't expect bank staff to be willing to die when masked robbers demand the keys. Happens all around the world even in peacetime...
