If you wanted to further segregate your stack or to add addresses that are strictly for no-KYC sats by simply adding “accounts” signable by a particular device, is there any downside as far as ease of recovery goes?

What I am getting at is there are a couple ways of eliminating single points of failure in simple non-multisig cold storage. Couldn’t you simply have a pair of devices for redundancy and just split your stack 5 ways across 5 accounts signable by a single device? Would there be any tradeoffs in terms of ease of recovery provided that each of the 5 sets of keys were backed up on steel and geographically distributed? #asknostr

The inherent risk lies in a single device's compromise - a loss of one could expose entire holdings. It’s less about ease of recovery than concentrated vulnerability.

Do you need the 5 sets of keys backed up, if they're all derived from a main set?

Just maintain labels and UTXO hygiene No need to obsess over wallets IMO
