Paid relays, gossip between relays, and shared block lists are a start.

Web of trust works too but it creates echo chambers. Pay to post is the pure solution.
TheGrinder · 149w
self-moderation / community based moderation and content filtering tags like #blacklstr what we do not need is a platform deciding on the content the user sees or does not see.

Everyone hosting everything themselves. It's the only way. That or some sort of proof of work mechanism for having your data hosted.

Twitter is the bot hellscape. Nostr fixes it with #zaps and simple mute functions.
PABLOF7z · 149w
solved at the edges only centralized systems demand centralized solutions just build the tools (best thing: in nostr, everybody can build whatever tool they please)

Ain’t Twitter like 80% percent bots? 🤔https://media2.giphy.com/media/xUPGcEOEllmvFAvako/giphy.gif

Is it any surprise Twitter went to shit after Jack left? Best way to fix this #[1] is for Nostr to grow and eventually take the demand away from Twitter

Could there be some kind of community informed filter mechanism that leverages AI? As we organically inform the weights by identifying problematic accounts, the AI learns to use our information to suppress bad accounts? And then each user can adjust the "squelch" on the filter however they want, whe...

I want my Nostr client only show posts from people n-degrees from the people I follow. This should fix it. Real people don’t follow spammy accounts.
Sanjam · 149w
That is the question, if it is not splved then nostr might become a zone of bot mayhem.
bennibtc · 149w
we can expand the protocol to rank each other in trust scores, so we can filter for: "only show keys/posts who are ranked >x by keys that I rank >y". this will scale dunbars number to the whole planet. scoring posts/keys in numbers x/100 is also a way better value metric than just likes/follows. ...

By being an open platform. Stable order can *only* come from chaos. It's how humans evolved from soup, why central banking is evil, why true decentralization is necessary, why good companies always pop up in a free market. We might choose many different and creative client-side or self hosted filte...

Diversity and competition , relays and clients can try things and follow visions freely without having the responsibility of the network that a centralized company have. Multiple different solutions can co exists while keeping a network effect together.
kodi · 147w
It will be like the fediverse where you have relays that having approval processes, email verification, capatchas. Stuff like that. Paid relays will never work people won't use them.
