@OCEAN @Luke Dashjr Will OCEAN pool enforce BIP-110 compliance for DATUM miners? And for its stratum?

What happens to a DATUM miner that builds its own block templates if it finds a block that includes non compliant transactions? Or even if it doesn't find it, does the hashrate still count?

And of the pool enforces BIP-110 even if only for stratum, I guess rewards will come from BIP-110 blocks only. Which means lower profitability (but same would happen in the other side). But additionally means that many block rewarda are at risk of being invalidated (reorg). So what happens to LN instant payouts?

Don't these questions deserve an official announcement? Maybe I've missed it but couldn't find any.

Interesting topic. Would be nice to have an answer.

I also think they need to clear the air with an official post about this. Better sooner than later imo.

Assuming that OCEAN runs a BIP-110 node (fair assumption) for broadcasting, it would view the block as invalid. But because of the way that DATUM works, you would still broadcast your own block and if POW is correct, it would be accepted by all NON-BIP110 nodes. As far as "Offical Announcements" O...

These are great questions. Let’s see if I can do them justice. To run Bitcoin Knots you must acknowledge or “agree” that you will also be running BIP-110. So this is transparent that going forward once you upgrade Bitcoin Knots and BIP-110 are together. They go a step further and allow you t...

Just like everyone else, OCEAN must enforce the consensus rules of the network, but there is no official position on BIP-110 yet. There is no reason to think profitability will be lower after IBP-110 activates. Even if someone throws together a Bcash-like counter-fork, BIP-110 will still have fixed...
