We have a large mix. We are planting the covercrop not only for the grapes but for the feed value when we run the sheep through to eat down the cover crop. So the mix includes: oats, radish, phacelia, flax, three different clovers, barley, peas. The cover crop does not “add” any flavor to the wine. But totally changes the micro climate and soil which has a huge effect on the wines. We have to irrigate much less with the soil being so covered and mildew pressure is al but gone, so the vines are super healthy
