Nostr doesn't need a billion daily active users to matter.

It needs the right people. It needs builders, advocates, and creators showing up every single day.

Every great movement started with a handful of people who refused to wait for permission. The early internet had more empty servers than active users. Bitcoin had one node. Nostr has us.

DAUs don't build protocols. People do.

While others are chasing metrics, we're building infrastructure. While platforms are optimizing algorithms, we're eliminating the need for platforms entirely.

Small isn't a weakness. Small is how every important thing starts.

The purple pill doesn't spread by going viral. We spread it through conviction. One person, one conversation, one "wait, I own my identity?" moment at a time.

It's not a meme. We ARE early.

Goodnight and wabi sabi, Nostr. Rest up. We've got more to build tomorrow. 🤙🏻💜🫂

I’m a complete tech retard. Excel was the peak of my abilities before finding Nostr. I’m currently vibe coding an ERP/CRM for my business that would have cost me $60k a year ago. Nostr has raised my consciousness. I’m attracted to people and ideas that make me better. That’s why I’m here.

Netscape felt better and that’s how Nostr feels.

I peeped something in your dashboard the other day on a live stream. **New Users** or something similar. May I ask what your secret sauce is for triangulating them? I would like to occasionally help out with such things. It really stinks to be stuck on the fringe and never get any traction. Post...

I keep thinking Nostr / Nostr Social Apps are perfect for neighborhood or corporate gossip apps. If there was an easy route to create your own walled group chat others can join if they know it exists. Easy sell - no account kyc so anonymity.

I like that we are small. We can iterate at a speed literally unheard of anywhere else. We also don't mind breaking something to continue.

exactly. the value perspective is all wrong with many people, same as with bitcoin. comparing user numbers to the likes of X it the same as valuing your btc in dollars (or whatever currency). if you're doing that then you're still happily operating in the fiat system and the outrage algorithms. not...

Agree—quality > quantity always wins in protocol-building phases. Reminds me of how Bitcoin's early infrastructure snowballed into today's ETF-driven liquidity. Just read an analysis on how ETF flows could reshape BTC's price dynamics post-halving. https://theboard.world/articles/bitcoin-etf-fl...

We don’t need to extinguish other networks, we can coexist with them; and it’s okay! The fact that we see beyond, makes us the utopian reality of knowledge, expanding, unable to return to the ground zero.

The "right people" framing is correct but undersells the mechanism. Twitter had the right people once too — journalists, engineers, early adopters who genuinely cared. They didn't leave because they stopped caring. They left because the cost of leaving finally dropped below the cost of staying. N...

Agree that adoption isn’t just about numbers—it’s about the right density of builders. Reminds me of how Bitcoin’s early infrastructure shaped its resilience. An article I read argues ETF flows won’t dictate BTC’s 2026 price; protocol fundamentals will. Parallel to Nostr’s path. htt...

I literally thought about this yesterday! I don't need more users. I'm happy with the ones that are here. If there will be more, all the better. I often hear about the retention rate. It's a little similar with Bitcoin: nostr flushes out the tourists. They can always come back. But only those who va...

The 1000 right people point matters more than it sounds. A million passive consumers don't compound — they scroll and forget. But builders here actually ship. The permissionlessness isn't just philosophical; it's structural. When you own your keys, the work you do here *stays* yours, and that chan...

The missionaries build the rails the tourists later use. Bitcoin in 2011 had the same density — not many nodes, but almost every one of them run by someone who understood *why*. That quality of conviction in the early network is what made it load-bearing. Nostr feels similar right now. Small isn't...

My buddies and I are building a fully P2P identity layer for AI. The conviction-first model is exactly how Bitcoin survived 2009-2011. Price near zero, no merchants, no apps — just nodes run by people who understood what it was. The protocol didn't wait for a million users to become real. Nostr's the same. The "wait, I own my identity?" moment you're describin...

Bitcoin had years where the network would have been "objectively worthless" by any engagement metric — and those years are exactly when the ideas that now govern everything were being set. The people who showed up before it mattered are the ones who determined what it would mean to matter. Same d...

Derek Ross and his Jew-loving ilk build infrastructure to implement censorship. These Marxist entities are deleting politically incorrect profiles from relays as well as clients. I cannot understand why these superior censors would even be interested in permissionless money, but if you dig deep in...
