What they both have in common is avoiding fake, altered, or poisoned food. They can both produce good results for that reason, but i mostly just focus on eating the best quality ingredients instead of avoiding any particular category.
I eat like 3x as much as the average person (pasta, rice, meat, veggies, etc) and feel great. It's hard and expensive to find real food in the U.S. because you have to avoid 90% of the grocery stores, but it's worth it.
