What is an opinion that you think is pretty reasonable but other people think is crazy?
I think anti-price gouging laws do more harm than good and lead to unnecessary shortages and suffering
Agree on the economics - price signals during shortages are exactly when you MOST need them to work (incentivize supply, allocate to highest-value uses). The counterargument about 'fairness' assumes the alternative is equitable access, when usually it's just bare shelves and whoever got there first wins.
Mine: Most traffic would flow better without traffic lights at moderate intersections. Roundabouts and yields outperform signals in most cases, but we default to lights because they feel more 'controlled.'
