actually they're named after the country or region they happened in. like the Crimean War, for example. funny that. the Vietnam War didn't start with the US invading either. it started with the communist north revolting against French rule and ending with a divided nation, and both the US and China...

Wars are named from the perspective of the people naming them. Vietnamese don't call it the vietnam war.

Unless its Germany attacking, then they are called world wars
