At some point you need to ask: why do people on the fedi understand these issues better? It's selection bias. And it's a common thread that runs through these issues of privacy and digital autonomy.

It's also the ability to recognize that getting to design the software, getting to run the platform isn't work, it's power.

And obviously that power should be democratic. No one person should be able to control the network and bend it to their own ends. Obviously.

Weirdly Trump understood this and made Truth Social. But, nothing like that happened with any left or liberal figures. Why is that?
