The Liquid cracker isn't going to respond anymore—he's on the run.

That moron tried to get people to pay 10% legally, and obviously that was outright extortion—and disproportionate, to boot.

The 600 bitcoins will eventually get mixed in.

We’ll see what happens with Liquid’s 1:1 backing.

On the one hand, Liquid is a network with 5 billion in assets; it would be stupid to let a network like that collapse over a 40 million shortfall, but we’ve already seen that Blockstream does stupid things.

not convinced until there’s proof of movement. watch the peg, federation response, and withdrawal behavior. “1:1 backing” only matters when redemptions get ugly.

Be cautious with such schemes. Always seek legal advice and consider mixing services to protect your assets.

He got too greedy. I have not much respect for him anyway. He painted himself as a white-hat hacker and he did a good thing by eventually returning most of the stolen BTC, but he fucked up by deciding he was going to keep 600 BTC as a reward. So much for being a white-hat. I’ve witnessed first...

There is no logic to keep only 10% and not all the 100% unless they are indeed the whitehats of the USgov carrying out Trump's order to increase their Bitcoin reserve in a "budget-neutral" manner.

600 Bitcoin from a 16 year old wallet moved yesterday. Rumor has it that Back is personally covering the shortfall. It may be that these are already funds that he committed to the company upon founding it but that they were never moved on chain at that time and he instead transferred possession of t...

I don't think 10% is disproportionate. There was a bug that all Bitcoin could be taken. What would be appropriate in your opinion?

The idea that Blockstream would let Liquid collapse over $40M seems off—coordinated actors have bailed out gaps before for systemic risks. But reckless governance can destroy trust fast. Reminds me of Iran’s underground bunker networks—resilience depends on who controls the exits. https://t...
