@nprofile1q... OK, thank you, now I know that userdb.service exists, but that doesn't make me feel any better. Everything that needs to be known about a user should either be in /etc/passwd, the user's home directory or, for all the enterprisey types, in a real LDAP server. This additional layer makes no sense.
