Thought you might interested in knowing the next version of Blender is going to have a cloth sim node in Geo Nodes, which let us do even more wild stuff:

One of my experiments was attempting to procedurally select which parts of the mesh are pinned, but attributes and vector groups don't transfer between geo nodes quite right in the current system.

Very excited to be able to pin parts of the mesh procedurally.
