I think the problem with nostr is we don’t know what it is. Some people think that’s a good thing. I understand that sentiment. I wonder though if it makes more sense to nail down — more fundamentally — what the role of relays and clients are. It’s early and small enough to make these critical decisions.

Open relays are the on-ramp and set their own house rules; the network's censorship-resistance lives in cheap exit, not relay neutrality, and someone has to pay for the on-ramp or it rots.
