That's not the case? At least not for android, or desktop. Don't know about the KYC (apple) phone. We've only ever used sats with obscura.

Didn't try subscription. We normally just make a fresh account when it expires. Obscura, Mullvad, and iVpn are our go-to providers. Watching nostr-vpn also..
