A free market is too big for manipulation to have any lasting impact. Lesson taught to the Bank of England by the free market (and famously Soros) in 1992.
That said, if a nation State such as China or the US outlaw a currency under threat of force, that can affect a market for generations. By definition the market is not a free market under that situation.
For now, I would consider the market for BCH mostly free, so impact short lived if any.
