We leave as many as we can up to 30% canopy cover, given the right type. Here we cut down mostly fully grown spruce, which would only deteriorate in quality if left on pasture (root damage leads to a certain type of fungus spreading towards the trunk and rotting it from the inside out which is very hard to see).

Some areas however is left open, as we live in the arctic and need quite big areas for baling. We like to change up the areas we use, so cant of course have trees there one year and not the other. But the roads and streams we try to cover with trees, so that there is never too far from one to another😎
