Does anyone have or recommend a knife set that is #worththesats ?

The one we got 3 years ago has multiple plastic handles breaking. Quite annoying. Looking for a reliable one that is preferably made from metal, wood, and other strong materials.

I've had the same Swiss Victorinox set for 6 years now. I ought to get them professionally sharpened, but with regular steeling they've held up great. All straight edge, only the bread knife is serrated.

Probably cliche, but I sold Cutconknived back in college (20+ years ago) and my Mom's are still good, and I have a set and love them too. Handles are some kind of composite material, but no issues at all.

I have a set from this guy and I love them. https://ikigaiknives.com/ I bought them 5 years ago. A few months ago a knife fell off the counter and the point chipped after hitting the tile floor. He ground a new point into the blade and refused to even charge me for the return shipping.

Any knifes made in Solingen, Germany are the real thing. Especially from small manufacturers that still know their crafts. Tradition going back to the Middle Ages. I like Mühlenmesser and here the raw metal ones. They stay sharp for generations if used correctly. (E.g. never scrape anything off the...
