If the entirety of the paywalled note was just "text" then this is what happened.
When you toggle paywall the note there is a text entry for preview text below the main writing box. It is visible text that can be used to explain (sell) what is paywalled e.g. "Here is my explanation of how I..." The note text at the top is the encrypted paywalled text.
However, the preview text is optional. If the entirety of the note was "text" and there was no preview text entered, then the built in feature that automatically pulls the first few characters of the note text as the preview text had nothing to work with, so it had to display "test"
