Camponotus striatipes lives in Borneo and has amazing white knees. Why? I couldn't find the reason. Also, in each photo this ant has pressed herself flat on to a leaf with her gaster sideways. Maybe in the dappled light of the forest she looks less visible like this?

Not the most showy carpenter ant in the world, but one I'd love to observe.
