Yes, a direct democracy could work and few (none?) countries have ever implemented it. It's also too much tolerance from the people. We tolerate third party interference - lobbying, NGOs, Israel, etc. all influencing and buying their way into dictating policy in every country.

I’m not sure that most people tolerate those anymore and I bet you don’t know either. And the reason we don’t really know is because we don’t have the tools to measure this sentiment. At best, we have to rely on an organization doing a survey on the subject but can this organization be trust...
