"A History of the Novel in Ants" by Carol Hart, a somewhat obscure fiction book that I bought blind because it's about ant (I collect ant fiction) is really wonderful.

Carol Hart writes with a deep and detailed understand of both ants and the history of literature. Each chapter is a mini-novel in a different famous genre but all of them are about ants.

Through her stories and through the lens of history we look at the ant colony through different philosophical lenses.
