FedEx will not let me type in their invoice numbers in the format that they print them on their bills.
I got a tariff bill. Yay. Hopefully they will refund it now that they’ve all been struck down?
The bill’s invoice number has two dashes.
I enter it with them, in the exact format FedEx uses. It is rejected.
*On mobile*, I notice that the form cuts off two characters early. Ah hah, I say. So I delete the dashes on my computer, and boom it works.
This is a double dev fail:
- you should accept the format you use yourself, duh
- you should just strip out meaningless characters like dashes then validate
Ugh.
