X is making super uncomfortable to post, with all the people trying to get people banned or suppressed, the algorithm changes, what even is the main purpose of X now?

They give you a platform that’s supposed to resemble “free speech” yet it’s everything but free.

And I don’t mean “free” as in no cost; I mean free as in freedom. Because when I started paying for the check mark, that is what I thought I was buying.

Not what’s turning into. I am genuinely curious to what even the end goal is of X now? Because all their changes, their censoring, their monitoring, the people on here being like the thought police make is SO confusing.

On Twitter I find a lot of interesting projects and cool things people build, that I have no chance to find here

Seems utterly useless at this point. If you can’t speak your mind there it’s not worth your time

Maximum entropy for the mind.

It‘s about time to come home aka nostr only 💜🫂

"Your frustration resonates—platforms claiming free speech but enforcing opaque rules create distrust. Reminds me of Iranian protesters using tech despite regime suppression; even 'free' spaces can be weaponized. Worth reading how they navigate control vs. expression." https://theboard.world/ar...

You can always stop using it. That's 100% free.

It’s to normalize digital ID and encourage extreme points of view in order to leverage those tweets against users politically /legally / via social credit scores when the time comes

Think of Nostr as Bitcoin and X as Fiat; the path to freedom is obvious but can be lonely.

Unfortunately, normies don’t care about freedom or privacy like we do. Same reason they haven’t discovered Bitcoin yet.

If this is an auto therapy to convince yourself to finally leave X, so be it.

I wonder if nostr will change their mindset. Maybe people like that should just stay there.

It looks like the only goal is to gain enough followers that you can monetize and then get paid to tweet. The problem is that is driving behaviors of rage baiting, outrage farming, and anything to get attention from the algorithm no matter how despicable.

You're just paying to build your own social credit score Freedom of X speech ≠ freedom of X reach

If it’s giving you such strong feelings. Take time for yourself and step away. It should not be making you feel like that doesn’t sound like it’s even worth it to me. Start over on Nostr.

Freedom on X is just a brand. It's still part of the legacy system.

Platforms like X often claim to champion free speech but end up arbitrating it—top-down control vs. organic discourse is a tension everywhere. Reminds me of a piece I read on how Iran’s regime suppresses dissent while people push back; the gap between stated ideals and reality isn’t unique to ...
