The only possible hope for shitcore now is that this episode results in sufficient ossification that the op_return change is the last. I could see anything remotely controversial getting massive push-back in the near future, probably for the next several years. But with Wall Street, big miners, and core united against plebs, resolve will weaken overtime, just like we've seen it weaken over the last 10 years but faster.
