While the Labour Party may see reducing the number of study visas (as well as making them less easy for families of students) as being a great way of appealing to ReformUK Ltd's voters, the costs are being paid by those in oppressive countries now unable to transform their lives by studying in the UK.

As one refused Afghan student put it:

'The Taliban don’t want girls to study, but now the UK is saying the same thing as the Taliban'!
