you're not responsible for their custody, you're responsible for what you taught them. if you walked them through seed backup and threat models, the loss (if it happens) is theirs to own, not yours. guilt is misdirected here.

If they are using it, tell them about CC, explain what happened and how to avoid the issue. Educate them.
