Someone who accepts discipline accepts that they will not think or reason about whether things are right or wrong, only obey.

This is wrong. Soldiers are expected to follow orders, but 'discipline' is not about following orders. Discipline is about setting up a structured (repeating) practice that's conducive to some goal. It's *not* necessarily about fixed times, durations, other prescribed requirements or not being allow...
