🇩🇪 Berliner Zeitung reports that men in Germany are now required to obtain official permission to leave the country.

All males aged 17 to 45 must get approval from a Bundeswehr career center if they plan to stay abroad for more than three months, including for study, work, or long-term travel.

The change came into effect largely unnoticed as part of the Military Service Modernization Act.
