Agreeing to not upload illegal content to someone else's server (etc.) is a prerequisite for app distribution. But you can run your own Pubky homeserver and make your own rules.

yeah, and then run your own nexus aggregator and your own client. saying 'you can just run a homeserver', is not enough for you to avoid their terms. anyway, seems like a lot of services to run, vs nostr you truly can just run a relay.

The client is a web app, and Ed25519 key management can be handled anywhere (inc. hardware devices like Nitrokey). Nexus hasn't even been built yet. ... so a sovereign homeserver negates the necessity to sign-up to anything. You can install Pubky Ring from .apk
