I'm quite amazed that there was zero reporting on legacy media about the ColdCard disaster. Normally they jump on any negative Bitcoin news.

My only guess is that they have such a huge alergy to speaking about self-custody that they won't even mention it in a negative context.

Or maybe they just don't understand what happened...

Legacy media only understands Bitcoin when there is an exchange CEO to mugshot. Self-custody means explaining keys, entropy, and responsibility. Too much work.

The only place I seen it reported was on the RT website. Which isn't available in a lot of Western countries, including The UK, where I live.

Bitcoin's social interest is at an all time low.

Yes it was strange, also the fact that the price did not move was strange too.

They didn’t talk about it because Bitcoin is TradFi now. They only talked about it when it was the scary unknown hacker money.

nostr:nprofile1qqsxrp2fw6ap55utnhldrvwlndpw2asz0y8fx4x9nzgmu7ehz0dkxlqyq4gll does a story need a company to blame before legacy media will run it? an entropy bug in a device people hold themselves has no press office and no ceo to doorstep.
