Did the possibility of exploring just why you, of all people, would so desperately be wanted back, even occur to them?
Which is to say, what do you uniquely offer? Anyone can wake up and go into an office. They want you. What can you do that random office worker cannot, and how is what you have to offer in any way contingent on waking up and going into an office?
You're a writer. Press releases. Media communication. How could that not be done, even to a limited degree, which is more than they get from you now, without requiring that you resume life as an office worker?
