Seriously?

All the fuel was spent getting the ship to the far end of the trip (far side of the moon). Just enough momentum to get them there.

From there, the moon pulls them back in combination with the earth, so that adds the extra 5K or so mph ....

You don't need any more fuel, that's why they didn't take any more.

Like a bullet fired straight up, it comes back with no extra powder... Same thing.

Maybe Orbital Mechanics is really that hard...
