if i was going to assign cities / states a human biological age equivalent i would say
US - 70

Interesting. It implies that the cycle can start over though. Because China in the 20th century would have been 80+ on that scale, with the political system getting so weak that it exploded into civil war. And it didn't really begin ascent until the 1980s with Dengism slowly turning it into a powerful state again.
But that's a round trip that took over 100 years. Which is why I am not optimistic about the prospects for the USA. It would not begin to start over until long after we are dead (if ever). But at least there are some local areas that are better than others.
