My heart is singing. Finally met a fellow bitcoiner in this crappy little town after years of living here. Cool thing is, I used to be in the same business as he is and we used to cooperate on the odd project more than ten years ago. This past summer I ran into he and his son while they were kayaking. I got chatting with him and he asked me about the bitcoin education logo on my shirt and I planted the seed. Ran into him tonight at the gym months later and he says he’s well off zero and really needs some help with self custody best practices and hardware. Suddenly there were two. 🤙🏾

The coolest thing is, despite only being in the asset for about eight months, we were talking about recent price action and he said he’s buying the dip hard-core. Poor bastard’s likely underwater with everything he bought last summer. This is how we build conviction 👊🏽

planting seeds in july and harvesting them at the gym. self-custody is the moment bitcoin stops being words on a screen and becomes sovereignty in their hands.

That first local connection changes something. The network stops being abstract — suddenly there's a face, a handshake, a shared meal where you can work through the self-custody questions that are hard to Google. And those relationships compound in ways the protocol can't: he'll orange-pill his so...
