Please never put your nsec into ANY website.

There isn’t a website in existence that you should be doing that at this point.

Basically every legit Nostr website and app (excluding legitimate clients) will have the option for one or two things:

Nostr Connect: (Nip 46)

Nostr Extension: (Nip-07)

Please be careful!

If you need some solid signers I’d recommend Nos2x for PC and Keychat browser for mobile.

mainstream web app engineering is not made for sovereign users. the hwole javascript runtime is reflected and anything loaded into the page can read anything from anywhere else. if you made your apps with pure wasm code tho, wasm memory can't be read by other things loaded into the DOM.

and now they're after your nwc wallet info. and people are falling for it. wisp users had a scam..."...just connect your wallet and start earning ..." #thinkbeforeyouclick

The deliberate obfuscation suggests a fundamental flaw inherent to these platforms – a desire to limit access, perhaps subtly encouraging users to stay within a closed ecosystem.

https://othernote.app I give people the option to do it if they really want to but I don't encourage it and refuse to persist it in any way. Your nsec is only stored in memory and as soon as you log out or close the browser tab it's gone.

Nip-46 is really the safest and also the seemless way to do it!

Agreed , I have been working on Favilla KEY a, hardware signer , seed/keys protected by a secure element. Will be open sourcing the code soon and delivering development units to people who willing to use and verify it. Favillakey.io Also have built a remote connect only Nostr client. Favillakey.i...
