well, unemployment metrics ARE a scam, lagging indicator, with at least 6 accepted ways to measure them, BUT...

... I really don't consider someone not looking for work as necessarily unemployed. some I would. but after so many months it doesn't matter, you just don't count... whether you just gave up or never needed a job.
