One of my favorite small hacks for improving my privacy that I learned this year is sending my images and videos to myself on Signal as a note to self. This strips the metadata before I share them online. Thank you very much, Mr. Matt @ODELL ๐Ÿ™

The only downside is that on my end, Signal seems to strip some of the original color from the media and make it look a bit greyer. A temporary workaround Iโ€™ve been using is applying a vivid filter before sending to Signal, though Iโ€™m not sure it fully preserves the original color.

Has anyone else run into this issue and/or found a better workaround?

If you have an Android you can use the open source Aves image gallery app to srtip metadata from images and videos.

Signal reduces resolution by default. You can turn it off.

GM Didi. Since I believe you use an android (GrapheneOS), I would try Scrambled Exif (https://f-droid.org/packages/com.jarsilio.android.scrambledeggsif/). I use it ALL the time when I share photos. It shows up as a location in the Share Menu of most apps.
