Have been running am interesting experiment over the last week or so. After reading the old testament [although not all of it] I have concluded that the god of the old testament is not the god of Jesus. And, if we make an assumption of removing Peter and John's influence, on the basis of being bad actors, and include books by those closer to Jesus (brother James and "twin" Thomas, as well as the favoured Mary), we come to quite a different canon and message.

I believe Jahova was an imposter. It seems so obvious that he is a weak and petty being, and far from an omnipotent (and loving) presence. Later, I discovered that many/most gnostics also have this belief. The depiction of Jahova's origins from the gnostic point of view adds a whole new dimension.

Go take a camel into the Thar desert and start chatting to locals. Ask them about the oral history about a holy man from the west coming to learn Buddhist teachings. Then read the parables and the stories attributed to buddha. Theres lots of rabbit holes in spirituality and belief
