A question I find really interesting is where do interests come from?

Why does one thing light up our brains, but another doesn't?

Since he was tiny, my son has been really into cars and machines. That put an end to the blank slate theory for me.

And he's also really into sea creatures, especially sharks and whales 🐋

(his favourite game right now is pretending to be a giant squid 🦑)

But land animals are just "meh" to him.

Anyway it's such a fun journey to support him in learning about his interests.

I get to see the world through a whole new lens too 😊
