Got an estimate for installing #SolarPower on our house, and they want $39,506 to install the system, but after 15 years it will earn back an estimated $38,039.

Ours was a similar scale but the cash flow on a monthly basis ended up being almost the same. ie paying off a loan vs paying the utility.
The system will probably last 30 years so you will get free energy for 15 years after payback.
Don't forget about inflation (which the sun is not subject to) and also your home value will also increase by at least that amount.
