Offramp via SIC to a Swiss account just 1 CHF. The 0.25% fee on Kraken vs 0.9% on relai compensates well. (additionally I noticed relai BTC prices are usually higher as on Kraken Pro, not Kraken norma...

Yeah, if your only concern is fees, then Kraken is probably the better option.

However, if you’re running a small DCA plan—say $200 per week—and you pay an extra $1 for every bank transfer, you’re already getting pretty close to Relai’s fees. (And yes, UTXO management should also be taken into account.)

If, on the other hand, you’re buying larger amounts once a month, even though that may result in a different average entry price, Kraken will likely be the cheaper choice overall.

That said, with Relai you’re in self-custody from day one, and for beginners it’s much safer than throwing them into the shitcoin jungle that is Kraken. Kraken Pro is also packed with features that can be overwhelming for new users.

So yes, it may be cheaper—but it comes with its own set of trade-offs.

After 10 years with weekly 200$ sats stacking, you'll be donating a mid-size SUV in fees (if not a Ferrari...
