@nprofile1q... I can second this: my wrist problems went away when I started strength training regularly. Deadlifts are actually good for you, go figure.

I don't lift particularly heavy, either: I'm generally working without a spotter so I don't go anywhere near failure on a dangerous lift. I've just been maintaining around bodyweight for deadlifts, bit less than that for squats, etc.
