imo, yes amethsyst is the best android client. for desktop it's a toss up between variosu web apps such as snort, primal, or coracle. i also use notedeck (alpha) and Gossip which are both native apps.

I'd say primal is probably nest Android native app for smooth UX. I enjoy Nostrudel for using a non-primal wallet. It's web based but works fine in mobile browser. Notedeck is very exciting but early days on Desktop.
