I mean I do like driving, though nowadays I am more of a slow and steady on the road than the mad max mode I used to be in as my younger self. And even though lately I seem to get in a car 1-2 times a week on average I would be happy to offload the mental load and focus energy required for driving and preserve it for some higher value stuff especially in the mental overload frying rapid fire like energy incoming end of month with Uranus in Gemini for the next 8ish years.
I am sorta bracing and trying to put the guardrails in place to protect my nervous system from what we are all about to be experiencing. I've somehow got myself test-driving this vehicle for the last month (funny cos I don't think I've driven more than 5ish times altogether) and it's been pretty fun and fascinating. ๐
Something like 12 years ago I was driving down the highways in silicon valley and I got overwhelmed by gratitude where I am, knowing where I come from, and that my great grandparents, even grandparents, couldn't even imagine or comprehend. Now I am riding a self driving car on these roads. It's mind boggling and this is just a smidgen of the future we can't even quite clearly see yet is in front of us as humanity.
I do hold the prayer that whatever it is is supportive to all of life. And I know the very real dangers of all this tech, how it's already captured us and has a ways to go and might indeed reach its highest dystopian potential. But also maybe we are able to steer the ship in a way that technology really does end up being of service to life at the end. And the sociopathic lineage that currently rules and is working overtime to remain relevant as we awaken through the turbulent times of collapse of the old industrial fiat war machine era dies off.
So yeah, I can get used to a self driving vehicle... Does it happen in the long run is another story. But this has been a fun lil surprise I was not even expecting.
