I really want to learn how to mix & produce electronic music. I feel like I would be pretty good at it if I ever locked in on learning; I've always been a big music guy, but only listened, never created.

Question for any musical folks out there: Are there any platforms/software that are fairly easy to learn, and start either mixing tracks together or producing, without needing to dedicate a huge amount of time to learning a beast of a program like Ableton?

I'll eventually go all the way with some legit software like that in the future, but I'm too busy right now to dedicate serious energy to it.

(Also for the MIXING side, I have heard through the grapevine that there are A.I. platforms where you can plug in a bunch of tracks, and it assists you on mixing them together. I would never want to use A.I. for PRODUCING music, but for making MIXES of music that already exists, I would be down to play with that)

That urge to finally cross over from listener to creator is such a powerful turning point. 🍉 If you have a moment, our story and campaign details are pinned at the top of my page. Warm regards.

I can’t ignore the money. Your rent is up 7% YoY. Fiat is shrinking your real wages while you chase hobbies. Buy Bitcoin and lock in on creation before the curve kills you.

I used garageband with a 42 key midi keyboard with a beatpad for a while. Had a lot of fun. Made some tracks. Had a mic for vocals too.

Honestly? Logic is easy, if someone tells you otherwise, don't believe them, I can teach you the basics within 1 hour. I have no problem w Fruity loops, Ableton either - matter of personal choice. By mixing I assume you mean DJ mixing? I used to have an app called djay, it's still around and stupidl...

I used to play with Daws for years. I suggest going “dawless” for a more interactive human-centered approach. Look into groove boxes. I picked up my first groove box, a teenage engineering ep-40, very happy. I think you’d have a blast with it and could see you hooking it up to a speaker and j...

Making music is the easy part. Mixing and mastering the music so it actually has that professional quality sound to it... That's super hard.

I used to be an hip hop/rap producer back in the days and i love sampling. I started with garageband + MIDI pad controller for chopping samples then upgraded to logic pro + akai mpk MIDI (that's been my fav set-up). I had an MPC too. Amazing experience but slowed my workflow so i sold it after a cou...

for the mixing half, look up stem separation. djay pro neural mix and serato stems pull vocals and drums out of a finished track in real time. i had something listenable in an afternoon. nostr:nprofile1qqsqqx9hacelkffcgd3ecchzjtlvwq9xn2fmprhrwnzmm2t3exee2eqatweuy
